A Brief History of clan HELLFIRE and other interesting occurances.

Clan HELLFIRE was formed some time in late '97 by a few members from Fantasy and FFM (Forces From Mars).  At that time, the team had 9 active members: ProtoX, Gokou, YBshy, Dipsy, Lightspeed, Sporty, Funguy, Eraser, and XzippoX.  YBshy was the leader since he seemed to be online all the time and talked so much (well he was also the most feared) :) However, XzippoX soon disappeared from the scene, and was followed by Lightspeed due to some personal circumstances.  Eraser was later removed from the team.  Later, a guy named Saiyan joined, but he was kicked out of the team in less than 2 weeks for being stupid.  At that point, it remained as a strong team of 6 players (ProtoX, Gokou, YBshy, Funguy, Sporty, Dipsy) for about the next 8 months. ProtoX, Funguy and Sporty dealt with the pure games while Gokou, YBshy and Dipsy played specs (YBshy later switched to pure).

During that time, Bandit of Flatline started a dispute with us but it backfired on his whole team.  Somehow, he came up and accused us of cheating just because most of us were in the top 10.  However, it was a fact that most of Flatline's members had multiple accounts to report fake losses to themselves.  All these Flatline players had unbelievable +50 win streaks and glicko higher than the top 10 players, but didn't even make it into the top 20's :)  Kind of makes you wonder eh?  And for some reason none of those players with +50 win streaks had played us.

In the end, the ladder staff deleted all the Flatline players because they traced their multiple logins :)  Oh well, that was old news, but it was rather amusing because a few months later, Bandit wanted to join HELLFIRE (even after all that shit he said about us).  The Flatline clan today consists of new friendly members, so we hold nothing against them.  Soon, Cataclysm, NightFlash, and Sharkie joined HELLFIRE and quickly burned the players on Case's ladder by climbing into top 10 in less than a week.  However, only a few weeks later, Cataclysm and NightFlash disappeared from the scene.

A few months later, most of HELLFIRE's old members (YBshy, Sporty, Funguy, Dipsy) lost interest in Tetrinet and just idled off Case's Ladder and Undernet Tetrinet League.  So at that point, they only came online once in a while and played Starcraft :)  Gokou and ProtoX went on a vacation to Europe, and they too got bored of Tetrinet when they returned.  They both decided to play Starcraft with the rest of us (:

HELLFIRE remained inactive for the next couple of months until Jer and Jeff from Elite-Clan (both brothers) joined the team.  At that point, some of HELLFIRE's old members began to play some ladder games once in a while. We kicked some ass on the ladder, but soon after, HELLFIRE disappeared from the scene again.  Spindizzy was the next member to join and start destroying the players on Case's Ladder and Undernet Tetrinet League.  Since YBshy didn't play anymore, Spindizzy became the new leader and besides, he'd been carrying the team on his back while the rest of HELLFIRE were retired.

At the time Spindizzy joined the HF team, only YBshy and Dipsy actually played on the ladder. We were also playing at the Undernet League, however Dipsy didn't play for HELLFIRE on the league, he was playing as MrDeath of team Destroyers because he was old and rusty and didn't want to fuck up the team's stats (:. This was our second run on the Undernet (the first being when we joined the League, ruled as champions and had a succession of thrilling wars with teams like plibble and angels of death), and we had some interesting matches vs good players and cheaters like the Elite Four alike. After a quite long run as rank one we finally lost the rank to team Ballplaya, who was lead by a quite good player named Billy and included another named Dennis who was later exposed as a cheater. After losing the rank to them, BP would never rematch us and so we lost interest in the League. BP would go on to keep holding the rank by playing nobodies once every two weeks until, in a final indignity, they were penalized in rank for ducking opponents and idled off the league.

After Spindizzy took the captain's chair, he quickly climbed to rank one on the ladder and ruled the Case's scene for some months, until he was cheated out of the top spot by some lamer from the team Gothic Nightmares who issued a fake report of misconduct to the Case's staff. The same thing had happened to the previous two champions of the Ladder (YBshy of HELLFIRE and Doh from Flatline). After that incident cheaters took over Case's and for quite some time it was impossible for us to get matches there because we were feared like the plague for our skills. Because of this, we turned our interest to the Undernet League and quickly took over the top spot, which we held with a couple of brief interrupts for over a year.

While playing at Undernet, we had a nasty dispute with team Shock. It would go like this, that Shock would pick on one of our weakest members for a match, and then afterwards we'd rematch them with a better team and destroy them. However setting up these rematches proved to be increasingly difficult (:. One day, one of our players played Kamikazee from Shock with the understanding that Kamikazee would rematch Spindizzy, however after winning the match, Kamikazee refused to rematch us. After all kinds of histrionics, it was finally agreed that Spindizzy would play Logix for the rank in specials, since noone at Shock thought that HF could play any good 1:1. During the match Spindizzy was at a clear advantage (winning 2-0 in games) when the Shock players (Kamikazee and Logix) suddenly started shouting and accusing Spindizzy of cheating, when it was in fact they who had cheated by not meeting the previous agreement. So Spindizzy canceled the match, and after this, we never played that Shock team again. After a while they lost the top spot to Darkinferno and we were able to get matches from these nice guys, so we reclaimed rank one again :)

During this period, Spindizzy recruited Ghost from Silverdragon, Misery from team Boink! and Graffix from Absolute Zero and Shock to the team in short order, but Ghost and Misery stayed only for a short time before retiring from the scene. Graffix remained for a while longer until he mysteriously disappeared for a long time, after which he turned up again, however rarely playing. After Graffix, micheLe from team Spectacular was the next to be recruited, followed by Jae, a player from team Silverdragons. For some reasons, Jae was later removed from the team, but micheLe would go on to prove herself as one of the most skilled pure players ever on the team. Somewhere around this time, Destructo, a great specials player also joined the team, but he only continued playing for a couple of months before disappearing from the scene.

During the years 1999 through 2000, the scene of Tetrinet competition was slowly dying out. Rampant cheating on the ladders and lame ops lead to HELLFIRE losing interest, so we had to find a new, exciting game to play. Around october 2000 we decided to make our entry in the Quadra scene, where we quickly established ourselves as one of the leading teams of the game. While in the early days of Quadra playing we found zLiP, another Swedish converted TetriNET player who would turn out to be an extremely loyal and valuable asset to our team. Currently, him and micheLe are making up the greatest Quadra 2v2 team ever. Since the old members had lost interest in regular Tetris at the time, we felt the need to strengthen our presence there with the addition of a couple of new members, so we recruited regular pure specialists Slider and XXX along with our resident TetriFAST demon BDigital, who holds the distinction of being the quickest player in the game.

As of now, spindizzy, micheLe, zLiP, BDigital, Slider and XXX are the active members of the greatest Tetris team ever.

    LONG LIVE HELLFIRE!
