On Joining and Challenges

Every week I get at least one mail from someone asking me how to join this clan or asking us to a clan match. This is of course flattering, since it means we are well known and respected. However, I think it is best if I make some things clear.

We do not hold "tryouts". Tryouts do not say much about a player, and they say next to nothing about his character. This has also got something to do with the fact that we are not a TEAM. If you have a team, you might well go to a server and find some people and play them, and if they beat you, they're in. We don't do this, because we want our players to behave properly and to set a good example. This is the core of HELLFIRE.

The way to join us is to get to know us, come on IRC and to our channel, play with us and demonstrate your skills to us over a period of time (a period of time is more than a week, sometimes more than a month). This is also the way to find out IF you want to join us. We are not an easy clan to join, as we are not easy to play.

This also goes for challenges. We do not hide, we are here for everyone to find us. We have never declined an official challenge. If you are serious about playing us in a clan match, go on IRC efnet #HellFire-Clan and talk to any of our members and we will work it out.

As for the requirements to becoming a HELLFIRE member, we do not require you to be a God. After all, we are clan HELLFIRE, so we don't believe in Gods. It's other people who should start believing in those things after playing us.

We don't require you to go around bragging about what a great player you are and how much HELLFIRE rules. We know that already, and if you can't prove it by playing, do not bother.

There is an old Swedish saying that the one who joins the game must take the consequences of the game. If you are really prepared to take the consequences of being a player, you can be a HELLFIRE.
